Rosehip Seed Oil

This beautiful oil is one of our favourites. Originating from high in the Chilean Andes, it has been cultivated for centuries for its wonderful properties. The seed of the fruit is cold pressed (meaning no heat is used to keep the high quality nutrients unspoiled) to produce this fabulous oil. Light weight and easily absorbed, it can help moisturise skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines. It is also full of nutrients like essential fatty acids Omegas 3, 6 and 9, Vitamins A, B, E, Beta Carotene and Lycopene (a fat soluble plant compound) that has UV blocking properties and free radical fighting capabilities.

Milk Thistle Seed Oil

The Milk Thistle plant is originally native to Europe and The Mediterranean but is now found worldwide. Again the seeds of this plant are cold pressed to produce the oil. It provides great skin protection from the Flavonoids Silymarin and Silybin, both powerful antioxidants which help block UV damage and environmental pollutants. It also has a high level of Vitamin E neutralising the effect of free radicals. The anti-inflammatory properties in Milk Thistle may also help calm skin and reduce redness.

Sweet Almond Oil

Cold pressed from raw Almond kernels, this oil is rich in vitamin E, A, B1, B2 and B6 and effectively balances moisture in dry and irritated skin. Because of its high fatty acid content it can also help dissolve sebum and therefor refine the appearance of pores. It is known to have a firming effect on the epidermis and is widely used in cosmetic products because of its vitamin rich composition. All the wonderful vitamins in this oil are utilised to improve tone and texture.

Chia Seed Oil

Chia is a flowering herb in the Mint family and is native to Mexico and Guatemala, again the seeds are cold pressed to make this fascinating oil and it is considered to be the richest botanical source of Omega 3 fatty acids. It packs a powerful punch in Organic Skin with its high level of antioxidants (even more than blueberries!) and anti-inflammatory properties. It is a great source of minerals (including Zinc) B Vitamins (rich in antioxidants) and Amino Acids which help skin regain its radiant appearance whilst improving elasticity, tone and texture.

Sea Buckthorn Oil

This oil is harvested through the cold pressing of Sea Buckthorn berries and is originally native to Siberia and the Himalayas. Sea Buckthorn berries provide up to 15 times more Vitamin C than oranges, so the oil is packed full of fantastic nutrients for the skin like fat soluble vitamins A and E and Phytosterols (which have anti-inflammatory properties and can help regulate skin cell turnover). Amazingly it also has Omega 7 (Palmitoleic Acid) one of the rarest forms of Essential Fatty Acids in the plant world and is essential for healthy skin.

Avocado Oil

Native to Mexico and Central America this oil is another fantastic all round beautifier. Our Avocado Oil is extracted from the flesh of the ripe fruit rather then the seed. Containing Vitamins A, B1, B2, D and E and Lecithin, it is one of the best oil moisturisers out there and is excellent for dry skin needing a boost. Because of this it softens rough skin and plumps out fine lines.

Lavender Essential Oil

Our true favourite among essential oils. Imagine how beautiful a field full of Lavender is, butterflies fluttering and bees buzzing among the deep green stems and purple flowers, a slight breeze stirring up that wonderful sweet scent. Cool rain, rich earth and then glorious sunshine nourishing the plant. Predominantly cultivated in Europe Lavender has been used for centuries and is one of the most versatile essential oils with many amazing benefits. It is known to be antibacterial, antiseptic, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal, all helping to preserve the health of skin.

Rose Otto Essential Oil*

Rose Otto is steam distilled from thousands of Rose petals, it takes about 60 Roses to make 1 drop of pure essential oil, one of the many reasons why it’s so highly prized! Fabulous for nourishing and protecting skin, it soothes, softens and hydrates the look of even the driest of skins. When combined with our other essential oils it creates a wonderful aroma in Organic Skin. It is said to be one of the most uplifting scents to the human spirit and we couldn’t agree more.

*Our Rose Otto is diluted in Organic Jojoba oil. Originating in Mexico and the Southern United States, this oil is packed with minerals and vitamins essential to healthy skin, like Vitamin E, B Complex, Copper and Zinc.

Frankincense Essential Oil

What a wonderful Essential oil this is! Frankincense has been coveted for thousands of years for its truly magical healing properties. In Ancient Egypt women and men would prepare balms using this precious oil for the moisturising of skin and as a anti-ageing treatment. It is said that Nefertiti and Cleopatra both utilised the amazing benefits of Frankincense for the skin. The essential oil is steam distilled from the gum or resin derived from the tree of the Boswellia family and is found in Southern Arabia, North Eastern Africa and India. Because it is an astringent it may also help tone the skin and reduce and prevent the appearance of fine lines.

Carrot Seed Essential Oil

Carrot Seed Essential Oil is steam distilled from the seeds of wild carrots (not the carrots we usually eat) and is originally native to Europe. It is sometimes known as Queen Anne’s Lace because of the beautiful white delicate flowers it produces. The oil is rich in beta carotene and vitamin A along with vitamins E and C which help moisturise and protect skin.

Rosemary CO2 Extract

We chose Rosemary CO2 Extract because of its wonderful ability to lessen the oxidisation of oils and has excellent antimicrobial properties. This extract also helps the stability of the oils and keeps them as fresh as possible. And because it’s full of antioxidants it’s also fantastic for the skin too!

Patch Test

We always recommend to do a skin patch test prior to using any product. It can be very exciting to open a new cosmetic purchase and use it straight away but we advise against this in case of any negative reactions. Patch testing is easy; place a small drop of Organic Skin onto the inside of your arm, where the crease of your elbow is, and rub in gently, leave for 24hrs to make sure there is no allergic reaction. Do not use if any reaction occurs. Please also make sure you read the full ingredients list in case of any known allergies.
